Home away from home

We stayed at One Thornbury because we had sold our house and needed somewhere to stay till our new home was ready. Kay and Tony literally provided a home away from home for us. They are lovely people and genuinely interested in accommodating their guests. Our room was clean with little touches like fresh flowers in our bathroom. They have a lovely entertainment area in the back garden which has a real Bali influence in the heart of the city.

My husband and I were drinking wine at one of the little tables and Kay insisted on giving us her best wine glasses and compimentary nibblies. She keeps fruit and biscuits near at hand for guests to enjoy whenever and at no cost. Go. You'll love it like we did.

One Thornbury is right next to Brisbanes china town which offers heaps of restaurants. The train station is close enough to make travelling round the city easy and far enough away to not be bothered by the noise. We wouldn't travel around China Town at night as it can be scary for us middle aged types but we'd be frightened to go out anywhere too late at night!
